Recognizing the acute need for a truly qualitative vocational school, a group of civic minded citizens embarked on their idea to establish an educational institution. Their main aim purports to be a place of academic excellence giving equal importance to discipline. The wish was fulfilled when the authorities gave permission for L.C.C. to come into existence in the year 1985. Originally it was located at 168/1 Changklan Road, Amphur Muang where Montfort primary school once used to be.
The rapid increase in the student enrolment necessitated relocation to 98/12 Moo 2 Porharam Road, Changpuak, Amphur Muang with an area of over 16 rais. The class-rooms, office machines, library and auditorium are all housed in four large buildings. Besides, there is an administration building facing the Photharam Road. Two large canteens provide ample space for the students and staff. Two basket-ball courts are right in the centre of the campus. Apart from playing basket-ball this space provides for conducting various activities. Last but not least, a mini forest allows all kinds of birds, butterflies and beetles mingle with the humans emphasizing “We are all one” concept.
During the month of November, 2011 the sole ownership of Lanna Commercial College came into the hands of Dr.Wachara Tantranont, presently a senator from Chiangmai and a well-known businessman and educationist. While the company “Chiangmai Education Company Limited” remains unchanged, “Lanna Commercial College” has taken on a new mantle, “Lanna Commercial Technological College” but retaining the former abbreviation “L.C.C.”.
